On volumes of direct foreign investments the Kharkov area takes the fourth place in Ukraine after Kiev ($9496,7 million), Dnepropetrovsk ($2924,1 million) and Donetsk ($1406,7 million) areas.

According to the press-service of the Kharkov regional administration, on the beginning of 2008 the volume of direct foreign investments into economy of area has made $1281,9 million, and rates of their growth are equaled 130,3 %.

Now in economy of region investments from 57 countries of the world are involved. Thus from 84,9 % of total amount of direct foreign investments into economy of area belongs to France (43,5 %), Chyprus (23,8 %), the United Kingdom (10,4 %), the USA (4,4 %) and Russia (2,8 %).

For attraction of foreign investments into area establishments are priority, which are engaged in financial activity - $653,1 million (50,9 % from total amount of foreign investments), "apartments in kharkov" the industrial enterprises - $398,4 million (31,1 %), operations with real estate, rent, engineering and granting of services to businessmen - $129,0 million (10,1 %).
